Clift's images have been exhibited globally not only as a World Press photo winner, but also as a multiple Pictures of the Year award winner for over 20 years. His images have been displayed internationally as part of the Day in the Life photography book projects and one of his pictures graces the cover of A Day in the Life of California.
Accolades include being named National Newspaper Photographer of the Year; winning the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for International Photojournalism; and The Kodak Crystal Eagle Award for Impact in Photojournalism for decades-long work on Addiction in America, a subject for which Clift was a finalist for the 2003 Pulitzer Prize. In addition, Brad’s Human Rights coverage from his 25-year photojournalism career was recently acquired by the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center for Human Rights at the University of Connecticut, special collections division. It includes his images, notes, personal papers, published stories and speeches at major institutions around the country.
Clift’s accomplishments garnered an invitation to join an elite team of world-renown photographers for the Day in the Life books series. Fifty of the world’s leading photojournalists gathered to document a single country on a single day. Projects took Brad around the globe recording everyday life: from the unique shoreline of Northern California, to Ireland’s rolling hills and ancient villages and temples in China. Brad has traveled on assignment throughout the world and most of the United States. This experience prepares him well for any situation, in any culture. He has become an expert at making extraordinary pictures out of ordinary life from family photographs to portraits of a Fortune 500 company CEO.
